Maligne Valley Adventure + Cruise

A trip to Jasper National Park is incomplete without a journey up the Maligne Valley! Come with us on a interpreted adventure up this pristine valley and marvel at some of Natures finest craftsmanship!

The journey begins as you climb out of the Athabasca Valley and up into the sub valley of the Maligne. Along the way, you will experience the power of water as it carves its way deep into the earth at Maligne Canyon, wonder at the mysterious disappearance of the water at Medicine Lake and finally take in the sheer beauty of Maligne Lake itself.

Without a doubt the Maligne Lake vista is one of Jasper National Parks most famous views.

Once at Maligne lake prepare yourself for a incredible Boat Cruise down the lake to Spirit Island. A trip to Spirit Island will have you standing in the doorway of "The Hall of the Gods!" To quote the words of Mary Schäffer when she first set eyes on this wonder over 100 years ago, "There burst upon us that which, all in our little company agreed, was the finest view any of us had ever beheld in the Rockies!"

Long considered one of the Canadian Rockies crown jewels, this valley is a World Class Treasure! The Jasper Tour Company's Maligne Valley Adventure is a BUCKET LIST item, in other words, it's simply the best!

Joe Urie

Owner / Head Guide

For over a hundred years guides have been leading people on excursions into these mountains in search of experiences only found on the periphery of their daily lives. In keeping with the standards set by such Jasper legends as Mary Schäffer, Curly Phillips and Bill Ruddy, Joe Urie, (voted the best guide in the Rockies), and his excellent staff will take you into the mountains on a trip that'll serve as the bricks and mortar with which you'll build your own memories. The mountains provide the setting, we provide the guide, but without you, there is no adventure!
